WHAT IS A DRIVE LETTER MAPPING?
Simply put, a drive
letter mapping is another means of accessing a shared directory on a computer
via a drive letter.
A drive letter
mapping from your WORKSTATION to the SERVER is required to run Typequick on
your network. The drive letter used for the mapping must be the same for all
workstations.

assumptions:

a Windows operating system on the SERVER and the WORKSTATION.
- You are logged
in as a user with ADMINISTRATIVE rights on the SERVER and on the WORKSTATION.
- A folder called
"PROGRAM FILES" exists on the C drive of the SERVER's hard disk.
- The name of
the created SHARE will be called "APPS".
- The SHARE will
be mapped as I drive on the Workstation.
To map a drive,
you will need to do the following:

a. Access Windows Explorer
b. Select the directory "PROGRAM FILES" on C drive.
c. Right click with your mouse and select "Sharing" from the pop
up menu.
d. Click on "Share this folder", and enter a APPS for the "Share
name". (see Figure 1. for an example).
e. Click on "Apply" to share this folder.
The PROGRAM
FILES folder is now shared as APPS.
